5 BEAUTY PRODUCTS I LOVED IN 2014 AND WOULD BE USING IN 2015

Hello lovelies, hope you all had a lovely weekend. Last year, i purchased a lot of products and some worked for me and i absolutely loved while some, not so much. Today i will be listing my go to products for last year which i will also be using a lot this year. Ok here goes.

- Maybelline colossal kajal

This kajal saved my life. Just kidding. But this kajal was of immense use to me last year. I love it because its so dark and glides on smoothly waking up my face instantly and making my eyes look somewhat whiter. Most importantly this ish doesn't run at all even when i cry lol which hardly happens tho. It stays put which is so important to me because i absolutely hate racoon eyes. I used to use that Indian kajal but this one beats that hands down  and for the price (800 naira) it's definitely worth every penny.

- Maybelline colossal volume express Mascara

Another winner from Maybelline. An intense mascara. I started using this last year and i must say it's lovely. For me basically, a good mascara should be really dark for that smoky eye effect, should add volume and length and most importantly should not irritate my eyes or run off when my eyes get teary. This mascara does this and much for me and for its affordable pricing (1500 naira), It's totally worth the buy.

- Milani compact powder

I started using this powder even before last year and it's a product i will still keep on using 2015 and beyond if i see something better tho. ok enough of the talk. This powder works well on its own on days i can't be bothered with the whole foundation routine giving a pretty flawless finish. Combined with foundation,it gives that wow effect. Some of my friends that use Mac have switched over to this powder because its cheaper (2,500 naira) and works even better (in my opinion) .

- Milani lipsticks

Affordable? Check. Glides on smoothly?Check. Lasts long?Check. Lovely range of colours?Check. I love Milani lipsticks.I own these in the shades Rose femme (a medium mauvey brown), Rose hip ( a blue toned pink), Sangria (a deep reddish purple, a dupe for Mac Rebel). My favorite of the bunch is Rose femme. It's a lovely nudish lipstick that works well for brown skinned girls. It's so versatile good for work and play. I hope to add more milani lippies to my collection this year.

- Coconut oil

Oh the wonders of this oil. I used this last year uisng it as a moisturiser on its own, mixing it with my lotions and even drinking it. It is also very good for the hair as well. Using this oil this dry season has helped moisturise and smoothen my skin deeply and prevent dry brittle hair. And do you know it's also wonderful as a make up remover? Try this on stubborn eye makeup and to take off foundation. Simply apply the oil with a cotton ball and gently rub over the face for clean, healthy, smooth skin.
It is very important to buy the pure, unprocessed one to get the full benefits of this oil (i buy mine from a guy who helps me make it).

So these were my staple products last year and i hope to be using more of them this year as well. I hope to get some other good products  that i can review on here as well. So darlings, tell me what products did you love last year that you will be using this year?

Looking to hear from you,

XOXO.

Happy new year // Review of the Mary kay setting spray

Happy new year lovelies....thankful for the gift of a new year. Here's hoping 2015 brings loads of light and happiness our way. To kickstart the new year I have made a couple of changes to the blog. I hope to improve the blog and post more often.

I have noticed that a couple of items i have purchased didn't have any reviews online. Sadly.  I always check for reviews online before making a purchase. Helps me save money and know the products worth investing in. I hope to help you my lovely readers make wise decisions concerning your makeup this new year. (Yes make up is that serious). So on to the review of today.

REVIEW OF THE MARY KAY SETTING SPRAY

Ever done your full makeup routine with all the highlighting and contouring and in your mind you are looking like a superstar only for you to pick up a mirror and viola! Your face looks like a cakey mess. Trust me this has happened to me countless times. I found out from watching youtube vids and stuff that Make up sprays tend to reduce this powdery, cakey feel and 'blend' makeup for that flawless finish. They also ensure your make up lasts longer and reduces transfer of makeup. So i went on a search and after reading reviews settled on the Mary kay setting spray.

WHAT MARY KAY SAYS;

Set your look for lasting beauty.When makeup meltdown is not an option, give it the staying power to last up to 16 hours. Preserves full coverage. Prevents color loss. Reduces Shine. As a final step, helps makeup look freshly applied for hours. Also works as a refresher any time of the day. Dries quickly and washes off easily. For any skin type, even oily. 2 fl. oz.

WHAT I SAY;

Mary Kay actually partnered with the famous Skinadavia brand which are well known for their excellent setting sprays. The setting spray by Mary kay is actually cheaper and actually performs. It doesnt irritate my skin and keeps my makeup on all day. Also gives a nice glow to my face and reduces transfer of my foundation. It doesn't stain clothes and a little goes a long way ( All you need is one or two puffs of this spray). I also use it to improve pigmentation and staying power of my eyeshadows. I highly recommend this spray for brides as it ensures your make up stays put on that big day.

WHERE TO PURCHASE: Elixir beauty store near tara makeup school banex plaza, Aminu Kano, Abuja. Also try Mary Kay reps and good beauty stores.

Word for the day : "If you can't fly run, if you can't run, walk and if you can't walk crawl, but by any means keep moving"

Thanks for stopping by  xoxo. OMO
